If you’re visiting Denver, Colorado, then you MUST check out the city’s best 3-in-one dining experience, serving up biscuits, pizza, and local beer – The Denver Biscuit Company, Fat Sully’s, and the Atomic Cowboy.
The Denver Biscuit Company
If you’re looking for the best breakfast shop in Denver, then look no further. The Denver Biscuit Company is hands-down my favorite morning fix.
Their homemade, southern style biscuits are not to be missed out on. Open from 8am-2pm (3pm on the weekends), Denver Biscuit Company is the perfect place for both early and late risers.
The Denver Biscuit Company menu features 12 biscuit variations, a variety of biscuit plates, and some classic breakfast sides.
At this hip breakfast joint, you can enjoy a cold brew, homemade sweet tea, or even a mimosa (21+, of course) with your meal.
Their biscuit options vary. Choose between sausage, or chicken for your base, and then these biscuits come loaded with a variety of different toppings such as bacon, sausage gravy, egg, coleslaw, and more. If you’re a fan of southern style biscuits, you’re guaranteed to find something you like.
Personally, my favorite option on their menu is “The Franklin.” A fried chicken biscuit topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, and house-made sausage gravy.
Classic, and more importantly, delicious.
The Denver Biscuit Company also offers a vegetarian mushroom gravy, that can be substituted in place of their house-made sausage gravy.
When it isn’t already included, you’ll be asked if you want to add an egg to your biscuit.
Another thing I love about the Denver Biscuit Company, is the support they give to local businesses. For example, when I ask for hot sauce, they bring out Merfs Jamberry Siracha, Berry and Arbol, hot sauce. Merfs blends their hot sauce right here in Denver, while using all natural ingredients. Don’t worry, they keep classics like Cholula and Tabasco on deck too.
The portion sizes offered at The Denver Biscuit Company are generous, to say the least. I find myself leaving full after splitting half a biscuit with a friend, but with a taste that good, it’s hard to share!
With multiple locations across the city, you shouldn’t find yourself too far from the Denver Biscuit Company.

Denver Biscuit Company After Hours
The fun isn’t over at closing time. When the Denver Biscuit Company “closes,” Fat Sully’s Pizza takes over. Open from 11am-close, this pizza joint serves up New York style pizza by the slice, or in the form of a 26″ pie.
While enjoying their slice, customers can also enjoy drinks from The Atomic Cowboy. The Atomic Cowboy is another alias for the Denver Biscuit Company – a.k.a. the branch of the company known for serving up beer and booze into late hours of the night.
What this really means is that when you decide to order a mimosa at the Denver Biscuit Company, you’re actually enjoying a drink from The Atomic Cowboy!
Fat Sully’s Pizza
Fat Sully’s is a New York Style pizza joint in Denver, Colorado. They are known for serving up pizza by the slice, and for their giant 26” pies.
The Denver Biscuit Company and Fat Sully’s operate together from 11am-2pm during the week, and 11am-3pm on the weekends.
Fat Sully’s remains open along with the Atomic Cowboy until close.
I had the chance to eat at Fat Sully’s for lunch twice now, and I throughly enjoyed myself both times. Their pizza slices are quite large, and come loaded with toppings of your choice.
The Atomic Cowboy
The Atomic cowboy is the third business operating out of the Denver Biscuit Company’s doors. It’s a late night drinking spot for locals and tourists alike. They have local beers and cider on tap.
I had Denver’s local Glider Cider with a slice of pizza from Fat Sully’s. The cider is on the sweeter side, but I enjoyed it, and drinking it completed my 3-in-one experience at the Denver Biscuit Company.
Overall, I am a huge fan of The Denver Biscuit Company, as well as Fat Sully’s and the Atomic Cowboy. It quickly became my favorite breakfast spot in town. As a fan of New York style pizza, Fat Sully’s is an obvious favorite of mine too.
Moving to Colorado from the East Coast is made so much easier, with places like this bringing a taste of home to us here!
